Some good ideas have a lot of bad implementations before someone comes in and does it well enough to win big.
Obvious, and yet, often overlooked.
Now I know for a fact that Danny Boyle would approve of me using a small camera ;) (at Williamsburg Cinemas)
My two cents on Place Beyond the Pines: Ryan Gosling aside, this is a great movie. A bit too long, but very well-made. I start loving Bradley Cooper as an actor more and more with every new movie (disregard new Hangover). Unlike Gosling, who basically has the same facial expression in every new flick, Cooper somehow manages to make his cute face look different and display a wide range of characters and emotions. Bonus points to the movie for Kubrick’s “one-point perspective”. ALSO: Mike Patton made music for this movie. MIKE freaking PATTON. Mesmerizing music.
